You might want to study the information we offer here first in order to help you order correctly.

Here are a few points to pay attention to:

1. This service only works properly if you have high-speed Internet access service with an upload rate of at least 90kbps. If you already have cable modem or dsl service, then you should be able to use it. If you don't have high-speed Internet access, you may order through Stickdog. Order Now.

2. If you already have a router that supports NAT and DHCP, which allows you to connect more than one computer to your existing Internet access service modem, then make sure that you have a port available for plugging in the DigitalVoice phone adapter. If you currently have only a single computer directly connected to your Internet modem and you have no router, be sure to order a router for $39.99 when you place your order for service. This price is about half the regular price and is only available at the time of your initial order. If you don't order the router through Vonage, you'll end up buying a router at your local computer store at a higher price before you can use the Internet phone service while you are online. 3. Choosing your own area code seems convenient and fun, but keep in mind: if you select an area code different from your own, the local people who call you might have to call long distance to reach you. Since you can call long distance very inexpensively, think of the people who will be calling you when you select your number.

4. Obviously, if your Internet access service is disconnected, your Internet phone service won't work. If you are using ADSL as your Internet access technology, you already have a second traditional phone line that can serve as a back up when the Internet service is not working. If you have cable modem, you should keep in mind whether a back up service is needed. Please keep in mind when making this decision that Vonage DigitalVoice does not support Emergency 911 calls.

5. You will be purchasing this service directly from Vonage with assistance from Stickdog. Vonage will provide your phone adaptor, your telephone number, customer care and billing services. Vonage only bills online, so you won't get mailed a bill for this service. There will be taxes on the bill. Vonage offers a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, but includes a disconnect fee for some of its plans once the service has proven satisfactory. Vonage has an extremely generous referral program, giving you a $40 credit for each account you refer AND giving the new account holder a $40 credit as well.

6. Stickdog will be available to provide additional assistance. Naturally, if Stickdog is your Internet access service provider, we'll be providing you support in that capacity as well.
